Rules & Regulations

All players, franchises and officials must follow these rules. The decision of the organising committee is final.

01Eligibility & Registration
  1. Players from all over Kerala may register. The player must be 15 years of age or above on the date of the tournament.
  2. A valid photo ID (Aadhaar, school/college ID, driving licence or equivalent) must be produced on request at any stage of the tournament.
  3. The player registration fee is ₹500 per player and includes a jersey and food. The fee is non-refundable except where the tournament is cancelled by the organisers.
  4. Registration is complete only after submission of the form and receipt of the fee, as acknowledged by the committee.
  5. Registration closes once the required number of players (176) is filled, or earlier at the discretion of the committee.
  6. Giving false information, including age or identity, will lead to immediate disqualification without refund.
  7. A player may register for and play for one team only during the tournament.
02Teams, Franchises & Player Allocation
  1. The tournament has 16 franchise teams. Each franchise pays a fee of ₹15,000 to the organisers.
  2. Registered players are allotted to franchises through the process (auction / draw / selection) announced by the organising committee. The committee’s method and results are final.
  3. One player is designated the “All Kerala Icon” as announced by the committee.
  4. Each team has 11 players in its squad (16 teams × 11 = 176 players).
  5. Each franchise must appoint a team owner and a team manager, who are the only official point of contact for that team.
  6. Substitutions or replacements of squad members are allowed only with the written approval of the committee.
  7. Players and franchises must not make private arrangements or exchange money outside the committee’s process.
03Match Format
  1. Each match is a 5-over-a-side game played with the Vicky ball supplied by the organisers.
  2. A maximum of 5 bowlers may bowl in an innings, and each bowler may bowl a maximum of 1 over.
  3. The tournament is played over two days (30 and 31 January 2027) in a league and knockout format as set by the committee. The fixture list will be shared with team managers in advance.
  4. The toss is conducted by the umpires in the presence of both captains. The team winning the toss may choose to bat or bowl.
  5. Teams must be ready on the ground at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.
  6. Fielding restrictions, if any, will be announced by the umpires before the first match.
04Scoring, Extras & Results
  1. Runs are scored as per standard cricket laws. Boundaries: 4 runs for a ball reaching the boundary along the ground, 6 runs for a ball clearing it on the full.
  2. A wide ball and a no-ball each add 1 run to the batting side’s score and must be re-bowled. A free hit may be given for a no-ball, as announced before the tournament.
  3. If a match ends in a tie, the result is decided by a Super Over. If the Super Over is also tied, the team with more boundaries in the match progresses, or a second Super Over is played, as decided by the umpires.
  4. If a match is affected by rain or poor light, the umpires and the committee may reduce overs or apply a suitable method to decide the result.
  5. Points and standings (where applicable) are awarded as: Win – 2 points, Tie – 1 point, No result – 1 point, Loss – 0.
05Umpires & Decisions
  1. The decisions of the on-field umpires are final and binding. Dissent in any form, including gestures and language, is not allowed.
  2. Only the team captain may speak to the umpires about a decision, politely and at a suitable time.
  3. Protests about a match must be submitted in writing to the committee by the team manager, with a fee set by the committee, within 15 minutes of the end of the match. The committee’s decision is final.
  4. The Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) Laws of Cricket apply wherever these rules are silent, with changes needed for the format.
06Dress Code & Equipment
  1. Every player must wear the official tournament jersey issued by the organisers during all matches. Players without the jersey will not be allowed to play.
  2. The jersey carries the name and number provided at registration. Numbers must not be duplicated within a team.
  3. Players must wear suitable cricket footwear. Metal spikes may not be allowed, depending on the condition of the ground.
  4. Players bring their own bat, gloves, pads, helmet and other protective gear. The organisers supply the match ball and stumps.
  5. Helmets are strongly recommended for batters, wicket-keepers and close fielders.
  6. Bats, gear and other items of players are the responsibility of the players. The organisers are not liable for loss or damage.
07Code of Conduct & Fair Play
  1. Players, owners, managers and supporters must show respect to opponents, umpires, organisers and spectators at all times.
  2. Abusive or discriminatory language, threats, violence, ball tampering, match-fixing, betting and any other unsporting behaviour are strictly prohibited and lead to immediate removal from the tournament.
  3. The use of alcohol, tobacco, drugs and any banned substance on the ground is strictly prohibited.
  4. A player or team found guilty of a serious breach may be disqualified, fined, or banned from future seasons. Prize money and awards may be withheld.
  5. Fielding teams must keep a good over rate and avoid delaying the game.
  6. Damage to the ground, the pitch or the school property will be recovered from the responsible player or team.
